Calypso Solid-State Wind Sensors, Reliable & Accurate
Calypso Instruments are solid-state ultrasonic anemometers, there are no moving parts ensuring extremely accurate data over the long-term, with no need for maintenance.
Calypso ultrasonic wind sensors work using 4 transducers that send an ultrasonic soundwave between each transducer, the time it takes for the soundwave to travel between them is calculated and compared. The result is instant, extremely accurate wind speed and direction data.
The sensors can communicate directly to an App via Bluetooth, enabling live data to be viewed on your iOS or Android smart device. Additionally, data can be converted into NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 protocol and viewed on a ships chart plotter or display.

The Calypso Range Includes:
- Calypso Ultrasonic Portable Solar Powered Wind Meter. Wireless, solar powered wind speed & direction sensor. communicates via Bluetooth directly to smartphone or tablet. When used with the Calypso NMEA Gateway converts the signal into NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000
- Calypso Ultra-Low Power Wired Ultrasonic Wind Meter. Wired wind speed & direction sensor with NMEA 0183 data signal as standard. When used with the Calypso NMEA Gateway converts the signal into NMEA 2000
- Calypso Ultrasonic Portable Mini Wind Meter Anemometer. Wireless, battery powered wind speed & direction sensor with 150 hours of battery life. Communicates via Bluetooth directly to smartphone or tablet. When used with the Calypso NMEA Gateway converts the signal into NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000
- Calypso NMEA Gateway and Range Extender. The NMEA Connect Plus Gateway connects all the Calypso sensor variants to an NMEA 2000 or NMEA 0183 network and allows data to be viewed over Bluetooth and WiFi on smartphone or PC.
